Arica
The village is located at the northern end of the country, at the mouth of the river Azapa, only 19 km to the border to Peru and 2051km from Santiago de Chile. It is considered the city of eternal spring because of its climate and it is well known for the high temperatures throughout the year.
The trade is very active, as this sector is exempt from tax and has a free port, so that a variety of products from different species can be sold at low prices.
The beaches are attractive the whole year through. Among them are the bays Chinchorro and Las Macha. Another attraction is the Morro de Arica, which attracts the visitors because of the weapons museum where the history of the Pacific War is presented together with various elements, including uniforms, balls and other objects of the soldiers.
You can see traces of different indigenous cultures that have begun the sale of tourist products, especially in the handicraft village. When visiting the museums you will see the exhibition of objects that were used by these and other ancient pre-Hispanic cultures.

In Arica there are many things to visit, like the seat of the government of Arica, the station building, the Cathedral of San Marcos, the Morro de Arica, the Chinchorro bay, the Ex Isla Alacran, the Bolognesi House, the Casino de Arica, the Artisan Village on the north coast of Arica and José Raúl Naranjo Menese.
Parinacota, paradise in the High-Plateau
The plateau is one of the most impressive sights of the regions due to its beautiful landscape, where land and sky meet and clouds on the horizon gather and delight us with their different shapes and colours.
What to see?
This is the place where we can visit the Lauca National Park, the National Reserve and the Natural Heritage Vicuñas Surire. On Chungará lake, there are two volcanoes: Parinacota and Pomerape, also known as Payachatas, which are over 6,000 meters high.
Traditions
The presence of the Aymara ethnic group in this area shows a different world view, in the tradition, ritual and cult created solely by Mother Earth. Do not forget that all these paradises are on 4,000 meters and some are even located up to 6,000 meters high.
